Scope

This Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site and any contact you have with us (email/contact form). By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.

What we collect

1) Information you provide voluntarily

  • Contact details (e.g., name, email) if you write to us via email or a contact form.
  • Feedback or corrections you submit.

We do not request or store Hafilat card numbers, payment card details, Emirates ID, or other sensitive identifiers.

2) Information collected automatically

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, device info, referring pages, date/time, pages visited).
  • Cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure traffic, and improve content.
  • Approximate location (city/country) derived from IP for analytics/anti-abuse.

3) Information from third parties

  • Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics 4) for aggregated traffic insights.
  • Advertising partners (e.g., Google AdSense) for measuring ad performance and preventing fraud.
  • Security/CDN (e.g., Cloudflare) for performance and threat mitigation.

Why we collect it

  • Operate and secure the Site (fraud prevention, debugging, uptime).
  • Measure and improve content quality, navigation, and user experience.
  • Respond to questions, feedback, and correction requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
  • Show ads and limit repeated/irrelevant ads (if enabled).

Legal bases

  • Consent (for non-essential cookies/ads personalisation where required).
  • Legitimate interests (analytics, security, site functionality).
  • Legal obligation (records we must keep).
  • Contract (if you request something that requires us to respond).

Note: UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL) informs our practices for UAE users. If you are in the EEA/UK, GDPR/UK-GDPR rights also apply as set out below.

Cookies & similar technologies

  • Essential cookies: required for basic site operation and security.
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand traffic and content performance.
  • Advertising cookies (if enabled): deliver/measure ads and limit frequency.

Your choices:

  • Use your browser settings to block/clear cookies.
  • If we display a cookie banner, use it to accept/decline non-essential cookies at any time.
  • To manage Google ad personalisation, visit your Google Ad settings and industry opt-out pages.

Ads, affiliate links & external websites

  • We may show display ads (e.g., Google AdSense). Ad partners may use cookies or similar tech to serve context-relevant ads and prevent invalid traffic.
  • We may include affiliate links. If you click and purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
  • We link to official resources (e.g., ITC). Third-party sites have their own privacy policies—we don’t control them.

Editorial integrity & updates

  • We aim for clear, accurate, and up-to-date guidance verified against official sources where available.
  • We label updates with a “Last updated” date and revise content when official numbers, app paths, or policies change.
  • If you spot an error, email support@hafilatbalance.com and we’ll review promptly.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with:

  • Service providers/processors (hosting, security/CDN, analytics, email) under contracts that restrict use to our instructions.
  • Legal/Compliance: if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business changes: if we reorganise or transfer assets, data may transfer under the same protections.

International transfers

Our servers or providers may be located outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses) to protect your information.

Data retention

  • Contact emails/forms: kept as long as needed to respond and for limited record-keeping, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Logs/analytics: retained for a limited period necessary for security and trend analysis.
  • Cookie preferences: retained to honour your choices.

We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (encrypted transport/HTTPS, access controls, least-privilege, regular updates). No method is 100% secure; please share only the minimum information needed.

Your rights & choices

Depending on your location (UAE PDPL / GDPR / UK-GDPR / other laws), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your data (subject to legal exceptions).
  • Object/Restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies/processing where consent applies.

Children’s privacy

This Site is intended for general audiences and not for children under 13 (or the age defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us to delete it.

Do Not Track

Your browser may send “Do Not Track” signals. We currently do not respond to DNT signals due to the lack of a consistent industry standard.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
