Our mission

Publish clear, accurate, and timely guidance that helps riders in the UAE check Hafilat card balances and use official channels with confidence.

What we publish

Practical guides, step-by-step tutorials, FAQs, definitions of terms that appear in official apps/menus, alerts about important changes, and reader-driven corrections where relevant.

Independence and conflicts

Editorial decisions are made by the Hafilat Help Team. Advertising and monetisation (e.g., display ads, possible affiliate links) do not influence which topics we cover or the conclusions we reach. We do not accept payment to recommend a method or number. When a commercial relationship could be perceived, we disclose it on the page.

Source hierarchy

  1. Primary sources: official websites, notices, app screens, kiosks, customer service responses, and documents from relevant authorities (e.g., ITC).
  2. Secondary sources: reputable local media and transport operators where they cite official statements.
  3. Community input: rider reports and screenshots; treated as leads that require verification.

Verification workflow

Research: identify the current official method, number, or app path.
Test: where feasible, perform the action (e.g., send the SMS, navigate the app path) and record the exact wording/sequence.
Cross-check: compare against at least one additional primary source or an official help channel.
Document: store the evidence we used (URLs, timestamps, screenshots with sensitive data masked).
Approve: publish only after a second-person check for accuracy, clarity, and safety notes.

Update cadence and triggers

Core pages (balance check methods and numbers): reviewed monthly and whenever a trigger occurs.
Triggers include official announcements, app updates that change labels or paths, number/menu changes, reader reports with evidence, or broken steps.
When a change is confirmed, we update the page, refresh the “Last updated” date, and add a short note in our Corrections & Updates Log.

Corrections policy

If we publish an error, we correct it promptly and note what changed and why. Minor edits for grammar or layout are not logged. To request a correction, email support@hafilatbalance.com with the page URL, the issue, and (if possible) a screenshot or the exact message/menu you saw.

Evidence and screenshots

We capture screenshots of app flows, menus, and messages when helpful. We redact personal or identifying information. Screenshots illustrate steps; the text of the guide remains the canonical instruction if an image becomes outdated.

Clarity and style

Plain language, short steps, and consistent terminology that mirrors the official labels users see in apps and kiosks. We avoid speculative language and clearly mark anything that is advisory or subject to change. All currency references are AED unless stated otherwise.

Safety notes and limitations

We never ask for or store Hafilat card numbers, Emirates ID numbers, or balances. When a step involves entering personal information, we direct users to the official channel and remind them to verify the URL or app publisher. Our content is informational and does not replace official guidance.

Arabic and localisation

Where practical, we include Arabic labels that match what appears in official interfaces, and we maintain Arabic mirrors of high-intent pages with proper hreflang. Translations prioritise functional accuracy over literal word-for-word rendering.

Use of automation and AI

We may use software tools to assist with outlines, formatting, and QA checks. Every page is drafted, reviewed, and fact-checked by humans before publication. Facts, numbers, paths, and phone codes are verified against the source hierarchy above. We do not auto-publish machine-generated content.

Advertising and monetisation

Ads and any affiliate relationships are separated from editorial decisions. If a link could generate a commission, we label it clearly. We do not sell placement within guides. See our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure and Privacy Policy for details.

Accessibility

We aim for readable type, sufficient contrast, descriptive alt text, and keyboard-friendly layouts. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, contact support@hafilatbalance.com and we will prioritise a fix or provide the content in an accessible format.

Data and privacy

We minimise data collection and never request card numbers or balances. Operational logs, analytics, and security tools are used to protect the site and improve content quality. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Citations and outbound links

We link to official sources where possible and indicate when you are leaving our website. If a link changes, we update or replace it with the most authoritative available source.

Versioning and updates log

Material corrections or method changes are summarised on our Corrections & Updates Log with dates and a brief description of what changed. Each guide displays a Last updated date.
